Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.  Matt. 7:7
"STUDY FOR YOURSELF"

God has revealed His will to us with great care and concern. John 5:39 states: "Search the scriptures" while John 8:32 reads: "And ye shall know the truth." There exists a great need for personal study and an awareness of the danger of neglecting God's word.

We must read and study for ourselves. It's a serious problem when matters of importance confronting the church are put in the hands of the "clergy" for a solution. An individual's faith is a personal matter and should be determined by what the scriptures state. What does Romans 10:17 teach? It's easy to get two extremes on most subjects, but it takes real study, investigation, and thought to find where the truth lies. The Lord's church is facing serious danger internally and externally.

A thing can be dangerous, yet still be useful. The automobile kills more people than wars. But its' the misuse and abuse of the auto that kills. It's a valuable vehicle when properly used. The same is true with many of the practices for which congregations are criticized. Some of these practices are not wrong in themselves, but can become dangerous. Let's study God's word, not our traditions or what someone tells us to find whether a practice is right or wrong. If it's wrong, let it cease! If it's right exercise care in its' use, lest it become a danger. God speaks to you in His word and its' not a message that cannot be understood. Study and know the will of God and be ready to act accordingly. Check it out for yourself.
